MISSION agency, Speed Communications, has launched a Back-to-School Helpline on WhatsApp for Beko, meeting parents where they already spend their time: the group chat.
With research showing 82% of parents rely on WhatsApp groups as an essential tool for managing family life, the campaign was built on a simple insight: for a brand like Beko, reliability means more to parents as a lived experience than as a spec on a box. Rather than claiming a Beko appliance will perform, the Helpline lets parents feel it, in the quiet relief of a washing machine or oven that just works when family life demands it most. It was hosted by former teacher and Sunday Times best-selling author Lou Beckett, who bought humour and authenticity to the back-to-school chaos.
Speed activated the campaign through creator partnerships with family influencers, driving traffic to the Helpline and embedding Beko’s appliances into genuine household conversations about the transition back to school.
Rebecca Broomfield, Director of Consumer at Speed, said:
“Parents don’t want another brand telling them how reliable an appliance is on paper, they want to feel it when the PE kit is still in the machine at 8am. By showing up in the WhatsApp groups where back-to-school actually gets sorted, we’ve made Beko part of that experience, bringing the brand’s reliability promise to life in the moment parents feel it most.”
