As part of 50/50 Day, themission’s technology Agency, April Six, announced that it has achieved true gender balance by declaring itself a 50/50 Agency. 50/50 Day is an annual celebration and recognition of the importance of a gender-balanced world, in all aspects of society.

As part of a global initiative, 50/50 Day is spearheaded by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain, who created her short film ‘50/50: Rethinking the Past, Present, and Future of Women + Power’ to explore and champion gender diversity. It was this that first inspired the April Six team to review the gender balance found within their own Agency.

As part of their on-going commitment to equality, April Six haved partnered with the 50/50 initiative.  At the outset, April Six hosted their own celebration, San Jose Technology Museum., where they privately screened Tiffany’s film, followed by a live discussion on how to use mentorship as a mechanism to achieve greater gender balance at senior levels.

They have also announced a series of ongoing commitments to ensure that their work on gender balance and diversity continues including producing a Pledge tool to support the 50/50 initiative – take a look at this video.

With 98 employees across London, San Francisco, Seattle, Singapore and Beijing the Agency confirmed an even spilt of 49 female and 49 male employees, with this balance being reflected throughout all levels of the organisation.
