MISSION Agency krow brings iconic characters Wallace & Gromit on board in new campaign for DFS
krow London has enlisted the help of iconic duo Wallace & Gromit in its latest campaign for Client DFS, which celebrates the company’s Joules collection alongside the characters’ 30th anniversary.
Creating a multi-channel campaign alongside Academy Award-winning animation studio, Aardman, ‘The Grand Sofa Caper’ launched in December with an advert in cinemas and across all major TV channels, press, digital, out-of-home, radio, social and email elements.
Directed by Magdalena Osinska in stop-animation, the advert sees Wallace trying to win Lady Tottington’s – voiced by actress Helena Bonham Carter – affection by inventing her dream sofa. When things don’t go to plan he visits DFS and is thrilled to find the quality craftsmanship that goes into making each handmade to order design.
Nick Ashworth, Marketing Director at DFS, said: “We have built a successful relationship with Aardman and the new collaboration with Wallace & Gromit is the next logical next step for our partnership. As brands, we share similar values and have the same commitment to quality craftsmanship. Wallace & Gromit are the perfect fit for our core target segments and allow us to show how we can bring comfort and quality to families.”
Darryl George, Creative Director at krow London, added: “We’ve teamed up with Wallace & Gromit to bring some much-needed cheer into the nation’s homes. And to show that, with DFS, even people famed for wearing the Wrong Trousers can find the right sofa.”
James Clifton, MISSION Group Chief Executive, said: “This is a brilliantly creative campaign by krow and Aardman, which really showcases the power of clever brand collaboration.”
