Business Partnering Support – 12 Month FTC (Mat Cover)

Reporting to: People Business Partner/Head of People Partnering


Flexible Base Location with Hybrid Working – Bristol, London, Norwich or Leicester




Our People team is based across several geographies delivering professional People support to a complex variety of businesses within Mission Group. This role sits within a Partnering Team of five and reports to either a People Business Partner or the Head of People Partnering.




Working closely with Agencies across Group, the Partnering Team and the broader People Team you will provide hands on generalist support to businesses. You will play a key role in supporting the Partnering team respond to queries, support managers, and support work relating to the delivery of key innovations across project work, organizational development, employee relations, and performance and talent. This is a varied and dynamic role.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Support the Partnering team to help deliver Agency people plans
  • Contribute and support on a range of People projects
  • Support the Partnering team with key annual processes including RTG
  • In partnership with local stakeholders and the central People Services and Partnering teams, provide local coordination and advice for day-to-day queries
  • Support the alignment with advice on all relevant People policies and procedures
  • Support the Partnering team to proactively identify potential employee relations challenges, as well as provide support for reactive cases. Provide sound advice to managers with support from the Partnering team
  • Manage ad-hoc or regular reports, including appropriate analysis of information where required
  • Develop strong relationships, building credibility and trust with your stakeholders





  • Knowledge of HR law, regulations and practices in the UK
  • Track record in building credible and trusted relationships with key stakeholders
  • Previous experience of working across multiple businesses with competing priorities
  • Ability to use own initiative and great judgement in dealing with problems or queries and providing sound advice, balanced with knowing when to move swiftly to escalate
  • Well organised and excellent co-ordination skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and conflicting deadlines. Ability to prioritise and operate with pace and accuracy
  • Detail focussed with a keen interest in HR operations & Partnering as well as sound knowledge of recruitment, reward and L & D
  • Experience of supporting employee relations cases, change management, and performance management
  • Demonstratable learning agility with capacity and desire to develop professionally
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant systems and technology. Experience of system roll-out and build out as well as the ability and desire to learn about new or emerging complimentary technologies
