Purpose of Role
We are looking for a talented and driven Account Director to join our UK technology agency. The AD will be an experienced and optimistic leader, with a proven ability to lead senior client relationships and inspire and guide a team to reach their own potential. You will relish the opportunity to advise Clients on the best ways to meet their goals and be able to identify the skills needed within the Agency to deliver against them. With a relentless desire for developing a high performing team, together you will deliver excellence – on brief, on budget and on time. You will have excellent communication skills, a forensic attention to detail and a deep understanding of the commercial aspects of account leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • To build and maintain strong relationships with clients – to be viewed by the clients as critical to the success of their business
  • To have an in-depth knowledge of the client’s business and the sector in which they operate
  • To lead and direct the strategic development of your account(s) – including the development and maintenance of Account Plans for your clients
  • Be responsible for the financial growth of your account(s) including proactively identifying new business opportunities within them
  • Ensure delivery against clients’ budgets, whilst maintaining margin for the agency, managing forecasting process, negotiating fees and managing invoicing
  • Support your GAD, by managing up and bringing new/evolved ideas for consideration
  • Actively participate in the strategic planning of Agency responses, including the development of proposals
  • Brief writing: collaborate with Planning and Creative leadership to develop strong creative briefs as well as write/review the day-to-day content/asset briefs that your team is responsible for
  • Manage your team and other resources within the agency to ensure that the standard of service provided to clients continually meets and exceeds clients’ expectations
  • Review all work presented to clients ensuring they meet April Six high standards and are ‘on brief’ and ‘strong creatively’
  • Effectively present to Clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring the style is adapted to suit the needs of the group
  • Undertake commercial performance reviews for every campaign and share this insight internally and with Clients as appropriate
  • Own the creation and oversee the execution of personal development plans for your team
  • To ensure your team is optimised effectively, right people in the right places
  • To maintain and develop extensive knowledge of all aspects of marketing including new channels, trends, strategies and technologies/tools

  • Experience working within a fully integrated B2B marketing agency
  • Experience of planning & selling (Pan-European) marketing communication strategies
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Highly experienced at presenting ideas
  • Experience of working with technology clients

Highly competitive salary plus a great benefits package including; 25 days’ holiday per year, pension and Bupa Healthcare (these will be added to the package following successful completion of the 4 month probation period).
