Tasked by United Overseas Bank (UOB) with providing a mobile-optimised website rebuild, the missiontmAgency Splash Interactive delivered a solution that did all that and more besides for its multinational Client.
How do you leverage native mobile phone features to develop a mobile site with relevant features for your banking customers “on the go”?
The UOB banking website was developed in the days before smartphones had become widespread, an era before bank customers expected mobile functionality as a matter of course. But times have changed – and when UOB was due a website revamp, this became a matter of some urgency.
Besides developing a mobile-optimised design to best present current content, Splash also seized upon the opportunity to deliver a better, more relevant user experience. Leveraging common smartphone features, Splash delivered a location-sensitive branch and ATM locator feature, using the GPS feature native to smartphones.
The mobile site also features customised exchange rate information, based on those currencies perceived to be most useful to the user as a result of their web activity.
This project allowed Splash to display a wide variety of skills, including:
UOB Mighty now enables UOBs banking customers to manage their finances on the go, make contactless payments and search for and book restaurants, among other services. Downloadable from App Store and Google Play, it’s the great-looking and functional app Splash’s Client required.
