the missiontm Agency, Bray Leino, exercised some artistic licence when it helped Tefal, the household appliance manufacturer, stage an ‘Art of Breakfast’ exhibition to help launch its new Maison breakfast range.
The team worked with food art bloggers Fresh Heather and transformed typical rounds of toast into famous works of art with the aim of reinvigorating the most important meal of the day and spreading some joy across the nation.
Commuters passing through Old Street Underground Station saw breakfast in a whole new light when masterpieces such as Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, Van Gogh’s The Bedroom and Hokusai’s The Great Wave appeared on a slice of toast.
Rémi Fondeux, Kitchen Electrics Marketing Manager at Tefal, said: “Breakfast has become a much neglected meal in our daily lives as the world we live in grows faster in pace by the day.
“It’s a real shame as breakfast provides a chance for family members to get together around the table before starting their days and it’s also a chance to cook up some really artistic and delicious meals.
“We want people to fall in love with breakfast again and unlock the potential the meal has for beautiful food. This quirky gallery was lots of fun and showcased the humble loaf in an entirely new light.”
