//Speed takes a Splash and introduces new foodservice & hospitality PR offer

the missiontm Agency, Speed Communications has announced its acquisition of boutique PR and communications Agency The Splash Partnership to extend its specialisms and broaden its market offering.

The Splash Partnership is one of the UK’s leading comms specialists in the foodservice & hospitality industry working with market leaders including all Nestlé Professional out of home brands (e.g. Nescafé / Milano / Maggi / Chef / Toque d’Or), Bidvest Foodservice, apetito, TUCO (The University Caterers Organisation), Eau De Vie and HIT Training, as well as a range of consumer food brands such as Anjum Anand’s award winning The Spice Tailor range and Todenham Manor Farm.

Today’s announcement follows 18 months after the merger of the missiontm Agencies Speed Communications and Bray Leino PR which saw the Agency grow to 70 staff across three offices (London, Bristol and Birmingham) and fees of £5 million. Speed’s success has been bolstered by a growing, healthy national and international Client base, including brand leaders and challengers across its three core focus areas: Business & Corporate, Consumer & Lifestyle and Sport & Fitness.

The Splash team joins the thriving Business & Corporate division at Speed as a new specialism in the Agency, led by Managing Partner Kelly Pepworth. Named as a Top Ten B2B PR Agency, Speed’s Business team has increased its revenue by almost a third in the last year.

Commenting on the acquisition, Speed CEO Roberta Fuke said: “The potential to build on the success of Splash to date in the foodservice & hospitality sector is enormous – as is the opportunity to develop the offer and Client base which they service.

“Our growing Client portfolio has seen us attract and work with businesses featured at a variety of junctures along the retail and hospitality supply chain from logistics leaders and retail packaging experts to member loyalty scheme providers and now foodservice operators. This end-to-end Client and knowledge base plus our connected teams means the service and expertise we can offer those working along this supply chain will be unprecedented.”

Caroline Hole-Jones, co-founder of The Splash Partnership, added: “I’m delighted to be taking this step for the business, the team and for the Clients.  This acquisition means we can further our ambitions for growth as well as provide extended resource and specialist skills to our existing Client base which features some of the leading and best loved brands in foodservice and hospitality.

“It’s an acquisition designed to ensure we are fit for the future, giving Clients and staff alike the opportunity to achieve their ambitions with an Agency that is driven by making a difference and operating with real purpose.”

Speed is part of The Mission Marketing Group plc (the missiontm), the marketing communications and advertising Group including April Six, Bray Leino, bigdog, Chapter, Mongoose, Proof, RLA, Robson Brown, Solaris, Splash, Story and ThinkBDW.
