//Mongoose converts for Thomson Reuters

With the 2015 Rugby World Cup due to kick off, sports and entertainment-focused missiontm Agency Mongoose took the opportunity to deliver a special employee engagement day for Client, Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals.


How could the excitement of the Rugby World Cup be harnessed for the benefit of Thomson Reuters? The event comes along every four years and only takes place in the northern hemisphere every 12 years, so Mongoose needed to create something memorable for Thomson Reuters’ staff.


Mongoose secured the use of Dublin’s iconic Lansdowne Rugby Club to stage a Rugby Family Training Day, which saw a mixture of girls and boys of all ages come together to learn touch rugby skills under the tutelage of ex Grand Slam-winning Wales coach Mike Ruddock.

The touch rugby skills sessions were supported by some of Ireland and Leinster’s finest players, with the likes of injured Ireland World Cup hopeful Rhys Ruddock and the recently retired Shane Jennings, throwing themselves into proceedings with gusto.

The sessions were followed by an access-all-areas tour of the famous Aviva Stadium, and an insightful Q&A session hosted by ex-Ireland international Mick Quinn and featuring current star Marty Moore in addition to the morning session’s star coaches.


Mongoose works with Thomson Reuters on a global basis, with specific responsibility for activation, promotion and special events. Mongoose used the excitement around the Rugby World Cup to provide a truly memorable sporting clinic for Thomson Reuters staff and their families, a special day that will live long in the memories of all who took part.
