Story and Ardbeg make it big in the Big Apple
20 November 2009
Mission agency Story has taken to the streets of New York with a larger than life bottle of Ardbeg Single Malt Whisky. The Big Bottle is currently touring the streets of Manhattan with a tasting team in tow.
Ardbeg, owned by Glenmorangie LVMH, is one of the peatiest malts to be produced on the Scottish island of Islay and is known as a 'big and untamed' malt whisky.
Members of the worldwide Ardbeg Committee were sent emails inviting them to Ardbeg whisky tasting and sampling events. The Big Bottle is being placed strategically in landmark locations to signpost the tastings, hosted in nearby venues.
The Bottle is one of ten produced by Story who briefed Cod Steaks in Bristol to physically create the huge models. The remaining Big Bottles are destined for other worldwide cities such as Hong Kong, Berlin and Milan.
Hamish Torrie, Brands Director at the Glenmorangie Company said: “The Big Ardbeg Bottle has had a tremendous welcome in New York with frequent acts of bottle hugging reported. The bottle was happy to pose for group photographs. And people very much enjoyed the whisky too.”
Mission CEO Iain Ferguson said, “Congratulations to Ardbeg and Story on the success of the Big Apple campaign in New York. The Ardbeg Committee is a growing worldwide family and gave a warm family welcome to the Big Bottle in New York.
