Mission agencies gain three places in The Drum's top 25 marketing services companies outside of London

19th February 2008

The Mission Marketing Group plc (‘themission®`), the national marketing communications and advertising group, today announces that its agencies Big Communications, Bray Leino and Story have gained positions in the top 25 of The Drum magazine's first fully integrated table of the Top 100 marketing services companies outside of London.

The league has been complied using the primary criteria of quality and business efficiency. Quality has been measured in conjunction with the Recommended Agency register which, each year, contacts over 2,000 client companies inviting them to rate their marketing services providers. Clients score agencies using the criteria of professionalism, value for money and overall quality. The agencies which made it through this process were then ranked in terms of turnover, percentage turnover growth, gross profit, gross profit growth and finally turnover per employee. The Drum then calculated an average score and the agency with the lowest average rank was the one with the best performance across all areas measured.

Big Communications, based in Leicester, was ranked 10th having increased turnover from £34m to £61m. New client wins over the past 12 months include Institute of Chartered Accountants, Northcliffe and Red Mill Snack Foods Limited.

Bray Leino, with offices in Devon, Bristol, Cardiff, Scotland, ranked 14th having increased turnover from £48m to £52m. New client wins over the past 12 months include WIRSPA - West Indian Rum and Spirit Producers Association, Sugar Puffs, St Austell Brewery and Timberland.

Recently acquired Story, based in Edinburgh, was ranked 22nd having increased turnover from £32m to £45m. New client wins over the last 12 months include Scottish and Newcastle - Kronenbourg, British Council, Commonwealth Games and Edinburgh University.

Iain Ferguson, CEO of themission, commented: "We are delighted with the success of all of our agencies and for these three agencies to be recognised in The Drum rankings highlights their success and growth in their non London based centres. At themission we are committed to driving growth through new client development and deriving benefits from being an enlarged network of agencies with a wide geographic footprint."
