Story makes room for more awards with win at Marketing Society Awards

15th May 2008

Story has scooped the top award in the Communication Excellence Direct Marketing category at the Marketing Society Excellence awards. The award was presented for the agency's work on Glenmorangie's Ardbeg brand.

The past few months has seen Story's award-winning reputation go from strength to strength - the agency has collected nine more creative and effectiveness awards since October.

December saw Story in London to collect two Gold DMA awards for its work on the Ardbeg whisky  brand for the Glenmorangie Company. Story took Gold in the Customer Loyalty category for its creation and ongoing evolution of The Ardbeg Committee plus the Gold award for Consumer Direct Mail for Ardbeg Beastie. The Beastie pack also took the Silver award for Copy and the Bronze award for Launches. In the Financial Services category, Story won the Bronze award for its TV, outdoor, branch and press work for Ulster Bank.

Further afield in New York, this time for Ardbeg 1965, Story was awarded a Silver at the John Caples International Awards, while in Chicago, Ardbeg 1965 won a Bronze in the retail/direct sales category at the International Echo Awards.

Closer to home in Scotland this month, Story won the category for Direct Marketing Excellence at The Marketing Society Excellence Awards for their Ardbeg Beastie piece. Its work for Scottish and Southern Energy was awarded a finalist place in the Online Excellence category.

In addition, Dave Mullen was given the honour of being voted Number 6 in the UK's Top 10 Best Creative Directors by Campaign Magazine. Campaign also named the much-awarded Ardbeg Beastie campaign as one of the Top 10 Best DM campaigns in the UK.

Sue Mullen, Managing Director of Story said, "Winning awards has always been important to us as it's recognition from our peers and the industry that our work and strategies are not only highly creative, but very effective for our clients' bottom lines. We're all especially proud of Dave this year for being named Number 6 Top Creative Director, the only CD on the list working outside London. We will never tire of winning awards, although we might be tired the morning after!"
