Bray Leino gives Olbas Powerflu TV treatment

13th November 2007

Healthcare specialists Lanes Health has launched a national TV campaign to support the launch of Olbas Powerflu - its brand new two-tablet, all-in-one cold and flu treatment.

The prime time TV campaign, which has been created by multi-award-winning advertising agency Bray Leino, will be the focal point of a £2 million integrated promotional campaign.

Scheduled to run across GMTV, Five and Five Life among others between late November and February 2008, it represents Lanes biggest product launch to date. The TV will be supported by an outdoor poster campaign on the London Underground, newspaper ads in the Metro, and point of sale within chemists over the same period.

Bray Leino has worked for leading healthcare brand Lanes Health for 15 years, handling creative work for established brands such as Kalms and Olbas.

The 30-second spot is the creation of Simon Delaney, best known for directing TV comedy series ‘Cold Feet'. Produced by Plunge, it uses live action overlaid with CGI to tell the story of two cold and flu sufferers who are trying to battle through the day.

The ad begins with them ‘putting a brave face on it' while a ghosted version of their inner selves shivers next to them wanting desperately to go home. Then they take Olbas Powerflu, the new powerful two-tablet treatment, one to tackle their symptoms and another containing vitamin C to provide deep down support to their immune systems. Shortly afterwards we see their poorly inner selves fade away, leaving our heroes to face the day feeling a lot better.

Bruce Hutton, managing director of Bray Leino, says: "It's an exciting time for Lanes Health. With such an innovative product entering a tough market we're looking forward to the new challenge alongside a great long-standing client."

Olbas Powerflu is available over the counter at chemists nationwide. For more information visit www.olbaspowerflu.co.uk
